Tesla is looking for an outstanding User Experience Designer to design the future of how customers configure and order Tesla vehicles and energy products. You will be responsible for researching, designing, innovating, prototyping and testing new digital experiences that pave the way for the future of vehicle and energy in a way that has never been done before. Our experiences are transforming the way consumers, businesses, and municipalities transition to EV’s, sustainable energy and an autonomous future. This is a high impact, high growth opportunity role.

As a member of the UX Design team, you will be at the forefront of transforming the digital experiences for Tesla's vehicles and energy products across the globe. You will be responsible for designing the Tesla vehicle and energy order experiences. You will collaborate with sales teams, product owners, designers, engineers, global partners and will be a key contributor and originator. You will conceptualize, design, measure impact and implement best-in-class digital experiences to help our customers discover and order a Tesla with confidence and excitement. What You’ll Do

• Research and define UX strategy, contribute to the overall product and design direction from a concept to implementation
• Develop creative and innovative design solutions for product education and purchase experiences that help guide various types of customers from different backgrounds and with different requirements
• Constantly measure how designs are performing for target customers; iterate and improve those experiences as needed
• Work in a highly collaborative fashion with engineers and other partners; invest in building relationships and trust with stakeholders
• Present work to partners, stakeholders, and senior leaders regularly
• Define and share Tesla UX design standards and guidelines

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in the study of design, or portfolio that shows equivalent project experience

• 5+ years of experience designing interactive applications for web

• An excellent portfolio showcasing user experience, visual design, and UI work with a strong design sensibility and excellent, user centric story telling

• Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills, ability to think through complete interaction design

• Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by group critique

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high stress iterative design process under minimal supervision

• Expected Compensation

• $100,000 - $198,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
