What to Expect
The Mechanical Engineer Intern plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of critical mechanical systems within the Giga Factory, including Compressed Air, Chilled Water, Heating Water, Cooling Towers, HVAC, Dehumidifiers, etc. The intern is responsible for managing the operations and maintenance of one or more systems, developing detailed work instructions and processes to ensure compliance with specifications. Additionally, they contribute to improving system efficiency and reliability by leading energy-saving initiatives and reliability projects, all while ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the operations team in operating and maintaining the systems listed above
- Partake in planning commissioning of new systems
- Manage small reliability and energy-saving projects
- Support the development of work instructions and spare parts strategies
- Contribute to defining the team’s maintenance strategy
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system issues
- Coordinate projects within the team and between departments
What You’ll Bring

Currently studying or experienced in a relevant field such as Mechanical, industrial or process Engineering

Skilled in using common MS Office applications

knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and industrial process systems including chilled/cooling and heating water distribution networks, compressed air networks, rotary equipment (pumps, fans, compressors), HVAC, Dehumidifiers, etc...

Fluent in English, German Language is a plus
