EDA CAD Engineer - Mixed Signal Semiconductors Experience: 5+ years Commitment: Full-time
Position Overview We are looking for a highly skilled EDA CAD Engineer with deep expertise in mixed-signal semiconductor design flows. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Cadence tools, strong programming capabilities in SKILL and Python, and a proven track record of developing and maintaining CAD infrastructure for complex IC design projects. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and optimize CAD tools and flows for mixed-signal IC design teams Create custom SKILL scripts and applications to enhance Cadence Virtuoso design environment productivity Build Python-based automation tools for design data processing, verification, and analysis Debug and resolve complex issues in Cadence tools (Virtuoso, Spectre, Voltus, etc.) and other EDA platforms Provide technical support to design engineers for tool-related issues and flow optimization Interface with third-party EDA tools and ensure seamless integration with existing design flows Develop and maintain documentation for CAD tools, methodologies, and best practices Collaborate with design teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions Manage tool licenses, version control, and computing infrastructure requirements Required Qualifications Must-Have Technical Skills SKILL Programming Language: Expert-level proficiency in Cadence SKILL/SKILL++ programming is mandatory Python Programming: Strong Python development skills with experience in design automation applications Cadence Tools Expertise: Deep knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso platform, including: Custom IC design environment Schematic and layout editors Simulation interfaces (Spectre, AMS) Physical verification (Calibre, PVS) Mixed-Signal Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in mixed-signal semiconductor design environments EDA Tool Debugging: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tool issues across multiple platforms Additional Requirements Experience with industry-standard verification tools (Calibre, ICV, Assura) Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting (bash, csh) Knowledge of design data formats (CDL, GDS, OASIS, LEF/DEF, Liberty) Experience with version control systems Clio soft SOS Understanding of analog/mixed-signal design flows and methodologies Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications Experience with additional programming languages (TCL, Perl, C++) Knowledge of digital design flows and tools (Synopsys, Mentor Graphics) Experience with HPC/LSF job scheduling and compute farm management Familiarity with PDK development and management Understanding of DRC/LVS rule development Experience with design database management and tape-out procedures What We Offer Opportunity to work on cutting-edge mixed-signal semiconductor projects Collaborative environment with experienced design teams Professional growth and skill development opportunities Competitive compensation and benefits package Flexible work arrangements How to Apply Interested candidates who meet the above requirements are encouraged to send their resume and a cover letter highlighting their SKILL and Python programming experience, along with specific examples of CAD tool development projects.
