Principal/Staff Software Engineer
United States(Hybrid)
As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing firmware for advanced optical transport systems. Acting as the bridge between hardware and software, you will develop solutions that power modern Data Center Interconnect networks. This position involves hands-on work with real-time systems, hardware interfaces, and FPGA/CPLD integration, ensuring seamless communication across components.
Your responsibilities
- Develop real-time embedded software and firmware for optical transport systems.
- Lead projects from initial requirements through design, integration, and verification.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues across software, hardware, optics, and FPGAs.
Your skills and experience
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering.
- 6–12 years of relevant industry experience.
- Extensive experience in C and C++ development on RTOS-based platforms.
- Strong knowledge of timing-critical operations, interrupt handling, low-level drivers, and control firmware.
- Proven expertise in designing and integrating hardware interfaces and inter-processor communication mechanisms in multi-processor systems.
- Experience with ARM architecture, hardware interactions, and FPGA/CPLD integration.
