R&D Engineer – Mechatronic Systems, Simulation & AI Description - Key Responsibilities: Engineering Design & System Development Design portions of engineering solutions for mechatronic systems, mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling, in accordance with established engineering principles and development guidelines. Support system‑level and control‑related design considerations, including servomotion, actuation, power, and integrated mechanical behaviours. Conduct feasibility studies, design margin assessments, and analytical evaluations on new and modified designs. Perform root cause analysis of design or system issues and propose, evaluate, and implement corrective solutions. Simulation, Analysis & AI‑Enabled Engineering Develop and apply simulation models, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural, thermal, vibration, and durability assessments. Support design decision‑making through simulation‑driven insights and correlation with empirical data. Explore and apply AI‑driven techniques to accelerate simulation workflows, improve prediction accuracy, and enable design optimization (e.g., predictive modelling, automated meshing, generative approaches). Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Execution Work in a collaborative R&D environment to design, analyze, simulate, and refine components, devices, structures, and assemblies. Participate as a member of cross‑functional project teams, including internal engineers and outsourced development partners, to deliver reliable, cost‑effective, and high‑quality solutions for low to moderately complex products. Build and manage relationships with suppliers and outsourced partners, setting expectations for deliverables, quality, schedules, and cost. Engineering Change & Value Engineering Manage engineering change processes, including design change notifications, engineering change approvals, and associated schedules. Drive value engineering initiatives, including proposal development, technical evaluation, and communication. Education: Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience and demonstrated competence). Preferred Skills & Competencies: Familiarity with 3D CAD tools, such as Creo Parametric / ProEngineer. Experience or understanding of FEA tools (e.g., Altair HyperWorks, ANSYS) is highly preferred. Understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials, kinematics, and materials engineering. Practical knowledge of material testing methods, such as fatigue and creep testing. Interest or exposure to AI / ML concepts and their application in engineering (e.g., predictive modelling, optimization). Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with understanding of mechanical and thermal material properties. Hands‑on engineering capability and willingness to engage directly with hardware, prototypes, testing and failure investigation. Bonus / Differentiators: Programming skills in Python, C++ or MATLAB for simulation automation and data analysis. #LiPost Job - Engineering Schedule - Full time Shift - No shift premium (Singapore) Travel - Relocation - Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) - HP, Inc. provides equal employment opportunity to all employees and prospective employees, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation, age, disability, or status as a protected veteran, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic predisposition or carrier status, uniformed service status, political affiliation or any other characteristic protected by applicable national, federal, state, and local law(s).
