R&D Electrical Engineer Description - Role Overview We are seeking an experienced R&D Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in electrical hardware development, automation engineering, and software-enabled test infrastructure. This role combines hardware engineering knowledge with coding, automation, data systems, and platform development to support large-scale engineering test execution, product validation, and manufacturing support activities. The engineer will own and support automation platforms, hardware/software integration, data analytics systems, and engineering infrastructure used across R&D and validation environments. Responsibilities Develop and maintain automation tools, software applications, and test platforms used for engineering validation and manufacturing support Support hardware/software integration involving controllers, sensors, power systems, instrumentation, and test equipment Perform coding and scripting using Python, C++, SQL, Linux shell scripting, or similar languages to improve automation and engineering productivity Support debugging, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution across electrical hardware, software, automation, and test systems Develop dashboards, reporting tools, databases, and analytics systems for engineering test data and product tracking Manage source control, CI/CD workflows, and Linux-based engineering systems and infrastructure Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, test, IT, and security teams to support product development and operational reliability Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and engineering best practices Design and develop electrical interface boards, PCA hardware, and supporting electrical systems for R&D and validation activities Education & Experience Recommended • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical hardware engineering, automation engineering, test engineering, or related R&D roles • Experience supporting product development cycles from design, validation, automation, and production support • Experience with Linux environments, automation systems, or hardware/software integration • Experience with EE hardware design (Preferred) Knowledge & Skills Electrical Engineering Test Automation Development Python, C++, Java, Go, SQL, or Linux Shell Scripting Hardware/Software Integration Linux/Ubuntu Administration Git & CI/CD Workflow Management Database & Data Engineering Analytics & Reporting Tools Signal Integrity (SI) & Power Integrity (PI) EMC/EMI Awareness API & GUI Development System Monitoring & Reliability Engineering Disclaimer This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
