Staff Software Engineer – Cloud & Embedded Systems Configuration

Zoox’s Robot Software Infrastructure team is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help build the core platform services that powers the configuration and runtime settings system across our autonomous vehicle fleet.

Our team develops full-stack systems that manage startup behavior, runtime settings, and software/hardware configuration across vehicles and cities—ensuring safe, consistent operation at scale.

Example Challenges How should a vehicle determine what to do when it wakes up? How can a fleet coordinate updates across time zones for 24/7 service? How do we detect and recover from misconfigurations in runtime?
