Job Description
Are you passionate about test automation and eager to actively shape the quality of modern software solutions? Then join our Engineering team as a Senior QA Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and reliability of our platform.
This role combines hands-on test automation and technical expertise to ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable test coverage across UI and API layers. The Senior QA Engineer works closely with Software Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to support stable and predictable releases while championing quality best practices.
Responsibilities
- Define and contribute to the end-to-end test automation strategy (UI, API, smoke, regression) for the IDN application, ensuring high-quality releases through strong coverage and stable execution
- Develop and maintain the Playwright + TypeScript automation framework, applying best practices such as Page Object Model (POM), fixtures, and reusable service layers
- Design, implement, and maintain automated UI and API tests covering key business workflows, including authentication, tenant management, and document processing (Keycloak/OIDC)
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable execution, parallelization, and actionable reporting for engineering and product teams
- Proactively identify quality risks, reduce flaky tests, and continuously improve test stability, tooling, and QA processes through refactoring and optimization
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and QA teams, participate in code reviews, and drive shift-left quality and continuous knowledge sharing
Qualifications
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Test Automation
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript
- Proven experience building and maintaining automated UI and API test solutions
- Solid understanding of modern test architecture patterns (e.g. POM, fixtures, service layers)
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
- Professional working proficiency in German and English
Nice-to-haves
- Experience testing multi-tenant or enterprise SaaS applications
- Familiarity with authentication systems (e.g. Keycloak, OAuth2/OIDC)
