Job Description
Within our AHL division (Appliances, HVAC and Lighting), our vision is to enable safe and high performing products to enter the global markets by applying normative requirements and standard.
We are looking to appoint an Engineer (m/f/i) with electric background to join our electrical controls team based in Carugate (Milan) and work on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
- Independently determines project scope, performs product evaluation, drafts test-plan and define samples requirements by analyzing client request and standard’s requirements;
- Operates within but not limited to North America safety scheme mainly using UL/IEC 60730-1 family of standard;
- Autonomously determines project’s effort and time scheduling;
- Communicates with clients to share scheduling progresses, explain UL procedures and requirements, discuss technical issues;
- Interacts with laboratory activities by preparing testing documentation and instructions to lab technicians;
- Develops customized test methods and set-ups, for safety and performance testing;
- Provides technical assistance to laboratory and/or field staff;
- Serves as Project Handler and may sign as Reviewer as assigned;
- Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job;
- Proposes development of new and/or revised UL requirements;
- Projects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites;
- May represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows;
- May interact with Global technical leaders for specific product categories or requirements;
- May train office, field, and/or laboratory staff and entry-level engineers.
Qualifications
- Master or bachelor degree in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), and/or directly related work experience;
- min. 2 years of work related experience
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical schematics and Bill of materials;
- Italian Language (min. C1) & English fluent;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service;
- Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with Engineering and other Laboratory Personnel to complete projects in a timely manner with high quality;
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with international customers and colleagues;
- Attitude to continuous research and learning of standard applicability to new & innovative products’ architecture;
- Attitude to work in international and multicultural team.

Experience with UL/IEC/EN standards is also a plus;

Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment is considered a plus;

Coming from the TIC sector is a plus;

Experience in Functional Safety evaluation / Safety Software programming is a plus.

Total Rewards: We understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position is EUR 29.000 - 38.000 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience. This position also offers an annual bonus of up to 5% of annual salary.
