As a Lab Database Admin, you will under close supervision, lead delivery of electronic information to the laboratory database. You will also provide technical advice for the use and operation of the laboratory database system including data quality control and content verification procedures according to SOP's. What You'll Do: • Review requests for database modification for accuracy and consistency. Generate and track the worklist of database update requests. Provide accurate status information of all pending and completed database update requests on a regular basis. • Implement quality control review procedures to address data clarification or discrepancy queries. Identifies, resolves and updates data discrepancies and makes necessary changes to the database. • Track, maintain and generate reports for billable services on a regular basis. Generate metrics reports for management review on a regular basis. • Generate internal communication memo's/reports detailing a list of database updates on a regular basis. • Participate in internal/self-audit program of database content, supporting ongoing quality assurance and quality control procedures. • Perform corrective and preventative action activities and special project activities, as required, to support ongoing quality assurance and quality event outcomes. • Perform database modifications, existing content review for accuracy, and ongoing status updates of third-party and non-company contracted lab data. Education and Experience Requirements: • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification • Technical positions may require a certificate • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 4 years). In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Experience with Microsoft Excel and web-based applications is preferred • Attention to detail • Knowledge of regulated industry/ environment is preferred • Evidenced administrative competence and relevant data services skills Working Environment: Thermo Fisher Scientific values the health and wellbeing of our employees.
