What to Expect

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Water Engineering Manager to lead our water systems operations within the facilities organization. This role is responsible for managing a high-performing, fast-paced team while serving as the primary technical liaison with city utility authorities on water discharge compliance. The position oversees the design, operation, and optimization of Deionized (DI) water, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Wastewater Treatment (WWT) systems, with strategic responsibility for future expansion into Ultrapure Water (UPW) capabilities. What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-dynamic team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement

  • Serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) with city utility teams, managing all regulatory communications, permitting, and compliance related to water discharge and environmental reporting

  • Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of DI, RO, and WWT systems to ensure uninterrupted support for facility operations

  • Drive process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and sustainability efforts across all water treatment systems

  • Develop and execute long-term strategy for water infrastructure, including evaluation and implementation of Ultrapure Water (UPW) systems and other advanced treatment technologies

  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), preventive maintenance programs, and emergency response protocols for water systems

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with EHS, operations, and capital projects teams to support facility expansions and new process requirements

  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and capital projects related to water treatment equipment and upgrades

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in industrial water treatment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role

  • Demonstrated expertise in DI, RO, and wastewater treatment systems; experience with UPW systems is highly desirable

  • Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes involving municipal utilities and water discharge

  • Proven track record of leading dynamic technical teams in a fast-paced, high-availability environment

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in regulatory and cross-functional settings

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (e.g., wastewater operator license) are a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing facilities

  • Familiarity with water system automation, SCADA, and data analytics for performance monitoring

  • Strong project management and budgeting skills
