Quality Engineering Technician, Cybercab, Battery & Power Electronics

What to Expect
The Quality Engineering Technician will work closely with Quality Engineering to provide reports, charts, graphs and anything else needed to define, measure, analyze, improve and control product and process quality from their respective shops.
The successful candidate must have mechanical aptitude, the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented and be able to both take direction and work independently.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor part and process quality, lead and co-ordinate containment and sorting activities as needed, determine root cause of problems, and implement and sustain corrective and preventative actions and countermeasures
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to establish and sustain robust processes and procedures, which ensure consistent high quality, audit manufacturing facility against approved manufacturing processes, procedures and requirements
- Support in new product launches, continuous improvement and troubleshooting
- Analyze and disposition non-conforming parts as member of the Material Review Board
- Maintain quality performance metrics and drive issues to resolution
- Support in risk assessment & mitigation activities, support the development quality requirements
- Maintain and update quality documentation as needed, write high-quality work instructions, measure and coordinate measurement of data, anticipate potential problems and take preventative action
What You’ll Bring
-
1 or more years of experience in a Manufacturing, Quality, or Process focused role
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills
-
Mechanical inspection experience using basic and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.)

Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, understanding of fundamentals of GD&T highly desired
-
Experience writing work instructions highly desired, knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices highly desired
-
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed

Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Essential Physical Demands
-
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
-
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
-
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
-
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
-
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
-
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
-
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
-
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
