As an intern in the Automation Technical Service department, you will support a highly motivated team in developing and maintaining software solutions that make our manufacturing processes even more efficient.
As an intern in the Automation Technical Service department, you will be part of the software development team that digitizes and optimizes the equipment and processes of our Gigafactory Berlin Brandenburg. You will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions, work closely with experienced developers, project managers, and technical departments, and contribute to delivering robust, test-driven applications. You will gain insight into modern development methods and learn how software directly improves production workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Participation in the design and implementation of modules, interfaces, and small feature enhancements.
- Use of common programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Java) and frameworks
- Programming & Documentation
- Writing clean, well-documented code under the guidance of experienced developers
- Creation and updating of documentation
- Quality Assurance: support with unit tests, integration tests, and bug fixing
- Documentation of identified bugs and their resolution
- Participation in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and sprint planning.
- Close collaboration with developers, project managers, and designers to understand requirements and develop solutions
- Analysis and resolution of minor issues in existing applications
- Handling of tickets
- Contribution to updates and optimizations to improve performance and security.
What You’ll Bring

Enrolled student (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field)

Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP)

Fundamental understanding of databases (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle)

Teamwork and strong communication skills (German and English)

Motivation to learn quickly and take responsibility
