Our Dalsa team in Enschede is at the heart of this mission, driving breakthrough advancements in high-performance digital imaging and semiconductor solutions used across industrial, medical, and scientific applications worldwide. As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, we are currently recruiting for an ASIC Design Project Leader in Enschede, NL !

Position Summary

The ASIC Design Project Leader is accountable for the successful delivery of projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring alignment with agreed scope, schedule, budget, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BoM) cost. This role leads cross-functional teams, drives execution discipline, and ensures transparency in project performance. In smaller or research-driven initiatives, the Project Leader may also contribute technically while maintaining overall ownership of project outcomes

What You Will Do:

Project Execution & Planning Establish and maintain the Project Charter and detailed project plan from kickoff through release-for-sale milestone.

Secure and negotiate resource allocation with line managers and Operations

Lead project execution in line with the project constrains and defined objectives

Continuously update project planning to ensure predictability in timelines, costs, and resource usage (labour, non-labour, CapEx)

Cost & Performance Management Closely monitor project budgets and BoM costs

Identify, track, and report cost deviations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented

Maintain strong financial discipline across all project phases

Governance & Reporting Provide weekly updates on project progress, risks, and performance at operations meetings

Proactively flag and escalate deviations in schedule, cost, or scope based on Charter-defined criteria

Initiate and manage Change-of-Scope (CoS) processes when required

Stakeholder & Communication Management Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including project teams, departments, resource managers, customers, and suppliers

Lead and coordinate milestone reviews, progress meetings, and reporting activities

Ensure clear, consistent, and transparent communication across all stakeholders

Team Leadership & Problem Solving Lead and motivate project teams to achieve deliverables and milestones

Identify bottlenecks and risks, contribute to solutions, and drive implementation

In smaller projects, contribute technically while maintaining leadership accountability

Continuous Improvement Actively pursue professional development in project management practices

Contribute to improving project execution frameworks, processes, and tools

Additional Responsibilities Drive adoption of best practices across projects (planning, reporting, governance, budget control)

Provide performance input to group leaders on project team members

Provide operational support and proactively identify, document, and promote emerging best practices across projects and processes

Maintain a strong understanding of organizational structure, business strategy, and ways of working

Take initiative to drive improvements beyond direct project scope

What You Need

Bachelor’s degree (BSc or higher) in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a closely related scientific discipline

Minimum 4+ years of experience in a Project Leader role

Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools

Ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects

Solid financial acumen (budgeting, cost tracking)

Strong communication and reporting skills

Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills

Familiarity with ISO9001 quality systems and risk management principles

Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Dutch is a plus

Ability to operate independently (“self-steering”)
