Team Overview: The role is for the Enterprise Tech – Finance – Accounts Payables team. AP teams consists of host of applications and integrations mostly on open source technologies – Java, Kotlin, React, Spring boot/Micronaut that are responsible for vendor payments and functions associated around it. As a Engineer, you will be executing the engineering design and development of Open Source applications in Enterprise Tech. We are looking for a Software Engineer with 2–4 years of experience building and supporting production-grade backend systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on with Java/Kotlin, comfortable working with distributed systems, and capable of debugging issues independently using logs, traces, metrics, and monitoring tools. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to work in a fast-moving production environment. Technology Stack Java / Kotlin Spring Boot Kafka / event-driven integrations PostgreSQL / MongoDB Redis / caching systems REST APIs and backend services Monitoring, logging CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and production support Cloud-native and containerized environments Responsibilities Build, enhance, and maintain backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot. Design and implement integrations with live data sources, internal platforms, and event streams. Work with Kafka-based messaging and event-driven workflows. Manage application and conversation state using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and other caching solutions. Debug production issues by analyzing logs, traces, metrics, and service behavior. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, deployments, and production support. Contribute to monitoring, alerting, observability, and reliability improvements. Required Skills and Experience 2–4 years of experience writing production software. Strong hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin. Experience building backend services using Spring Boot. Working knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems. Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB. Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging/event-driven platforms. Understanding of caching concepts and tools such as Redis. Ability to troubleshoot production issues using logs, monitoring dashboards, and traces. Good understanding of testing practices, deployment processes, and code quality standards. Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently. Good to Have Experience working with LLMs, AI agents, or AI-enabled platforms. Exposure to cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, or modern deployment environments. Experience with observability tools/libs such as Grafana, OTEL etc Curiosity to learn how LLM-based systems can be applied to production engineering and incident investigation. Role Expectations Take ownership of assigned features and services from development through production. Be proactive in identifying risks, gaps, and production concerns. Collaborate closely with engineering, platform, and operations teams. Build reliable systems that are easy to monitor, debug, and operate.
