Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. SEL is hiring an Application Engineer with a networking and cybersecurity focus. In this role, you will work on the development team to invent the future of critical infrastructure networking and train and support customers on operational technology networking and cybersecurity technology. This role will have a defense and energy control system market focus. As an Application Engineer a typical day might include the following: Train and support SEL customers, sales channel, and engineering services staff (internal and external) on Networking and Cybersecurity products and technologies. Maintain an understanding of industry technology and SEL products. Author service bulletins, application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets. Perform competitive analysis. Develop project use cases. Establish and perform validation testing. Create product demonstrations. Participate in the preparation of technical proposals and commercial bids. Contribute to existing and new product specifications. Perform special studies and tests as needed by customers. Participate in SEL sales and marketing activities and industry technical meetings and conferences. Develop training courses and best-known methods for network engineering This job might be for you if: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience Understanding of operational technology networking and cybersecurity 2+ years working knowledge of Ethernet-based communication practices and philosophies Excellent technical training, speaking, documentation, and writing skills Have military background and specialized in communications Understand security technical implementation guidelines (STIGs) Experienced with critical infrastructure control system networks Willingness to travel 25% Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment #IND5 Location Information: Boise, ID- This position is located in Boise, ID, capital of the gem state, and on the Boise River in the southwestern part of the state. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Associate Application Engineer: $84,200 - $124,500 per year Application Engineer: $97,700 - $144,400 per year Lead Application Engineer: $115,300 - $170,400 per year.
