Your challenge - Making a world class product! The production site in Spittal an der Drau has been part of this success story since 2018 and has become one of the largest industrial employer in Upper Carinthia with approximately 460 employees. We work on the development and production of solid and semi-solid food supplements and drug formulations, such as Femibion, Bion3, Neurobion, Kytta or Vigantol.
Our traineeship positions offer students the unique opportunity to test technical competence and management talent under real conditions and with specific tasks. A growing proportion of our junior staff are former interns.
From Day 1, we want you to be part of our team which works on projects focused on inventing, reapplying and developing technologies required to support the production process of our extraordinary consumer products.
YOUR ROLE
As a Data Activation & Asset Management Intern, you will support building foundational data capabilities at the Spittal site. You will contribute to driving data-centered solutions that make the organization more data-driven and efficient.
Assess current data landscape and align with business objectives
Support the development and implementation of data strategy
Assist in defining data management standards, guidelines, and principles
Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Intelligent Controls & Automation, and Site Digital teams to identify high-value OT and QA lab data
Help implement and configure data pipelines from source systems such as PLC and HMI to the Corporate Data Lake and other systems
Support capability building in site OT resources for data modeling and pipeline interfacing
Assist with data governance processes including metadata management, business glossary, and access controls
Help establish and maintain best practices for data publishing and quality assurance
Contribute to the creation and rollout of training materials on data management
Promote usage of the data catalog within the plant
Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Consumers, and Development teams to gather requirements
Ensure data quality and usability across systems
Participate actively in cross-functional projects and initiatives
Document and report work progress regularly

Compensation: This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Chemical Industry in employment group I.

Job Qualifications Strong academic background in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related IT field (minimum 4–6 semesters completed)

Technical skills in data engineering, analytics, pipelines, and data strategy

Basic knowledge of data governance, quality, and data architecture

Ability to work independently and lead initiatives
-
Fluent in English (written and spoken); German highly preferred
-
Good communication and teamwork skills
-
Passion for continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment

Preferred:
-
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or DevOps
-
Familiarity with OT systems (PLC, HMI) or industrial automation

Knowledge of metadata management and data catalog tools

Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Fundamentals)
