Under the Woomera Test Range Support Services Contract, Raytheon Australia deploys, maintains, operates and sustains a diverse range of RF equipment (inc associated networking and software) delivering the Telemetry (TM) and Flight Termination functions required to achieve test outcomes for the ADF. The RF/TM Specialist Engineer role requires an Electronics/RF/ICT Engineer with direct and recent experience with RF system design and application of TM technologies (acquisition, transport and processing), preferably in a Flight Test environment. As the RF/TM Specialist Engineer, you will be directly engaging with the Raytheon Australia engineering and technical teams to support the various Range Projects, as well as the Customer (ADF) and Range Customers (often Defence Primes and private industry). You will be instrumental in shaping RF/TM solutions for applicable Range trials, ensuring technical compliance to applicable Standards and Recommendations, process harmonisation and recommendations of innovative solutions and future upgrades. This role requires occasional travel to Woomera and various other locations to support operations. Key Responsibilities Leading the resolution of technical RF/TM problems and mitigating risks and issues that would otherwise cause delays, impact system availability and performance, and impact critical training outcomes for the Australia Defence Force. Contribute to analysis and assessment of customer requirements and provide recommendations to the project teams. Maintain currency of skills and knowledge relating to existing technologies and actively contribute through exploration of new technologies and methods. Contribute to the development and maintenance of technology roadmaps within the areas of responsibility. Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Requires a University Degree in Engineering and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience. Demonstrated hands-on experience with: RF Engineering (including link margin analysis, system design, test and surveys) Telemetry Standards, equipment and technologies (including IRIG-106, PCM, TMoIP) Application of Range Commander Council recommendations Experience with TM processing (including DCMs, decommutation, unit conversion) Demonstrated ability to manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility. Skilled in application and troubleshooting of IP network communications and security technologies. Skilled in explaining complex designs both written and orally to technical and non-technical personnel to convey a solution. Experienced with product configuration control. Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed.
