Directs Failure and Root Cause analysis and provide technical assistance with; material verification resolution, specification or drawing exceptions, supplier issues, and manufacturing related issues for assigned technologies. Identifies, evaluates, and recommends new components for new product development requirements and for improving existing manufacturing process yields. Uses independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities the majority of the time under general supervision. What You Will Do: Understand preferred technologies, sources of supply, and acceptance criteria for multiple commodities. Apply techniques for the documentation and release of components, processes and design guidelines in accordance with department policies. Perform Failure and Root Cause Analysis of moderate complexity and corrective action as needed. Provide technical assistance with material verification resolution, specification or drawing exceptions, supplier issues, and manufacturing related issues. Identify, evaluate, and recommend components, materials and/or manufacturers for new product requirements and for improving existing manufacturing process yields. Analyzes parametric data, preference codes, and obsolescence prediction data for assigned projects. Design Engineering community support including design development assistance, interfacing, communication, component application issue resolution, and general question/issue resolution. General technical support including activities associated with Bidding/Negotiating, Data Collection, and Analysis. Report generation related to technical issues including but not limited to; Hazardous Material, fungus, shelf life, ESD, flammability, etc. Participate in cross-functional projects as a team member or subject matter contributor. Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple U.S. locations, including participation in meetings and direct interaction with U.S.-based leadership. Occasional travel to U.S. sites may be required to support team alignment, meetings, and cross-site collaboration activities. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires an engineering bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken), with full professional proficiency required to effectively engage in meetings and communicate with distributed teams and U.S.-based management. Qualifications We Preferred: Basic knowledge of electrical principles and electronic components. Background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics Basic PowerPoint and Excel skills (including pivot tables) Experience with SAP and/or technical search tools.
