Nanofabrication Engineer (Senior / Junior)

We are hiring Nanofabrication Engineers to help advance our next generation processing and packaging efforts. We are open to both senior and junior candidates , with responsibilities matched to experience.

What You’ll Work On

• Develop and optimize nanofabrication processes for advanced photonic and hardware systems

• Photolithography process development using tools such as MLA150 Heidelberg systems (~1 µm resolution)

• Work with E-beam lithography tools (100–120 kV class)

• Deep UV lithography process development

• Dry and wet etching processes

• Thick metal deposition and lift-off processes

• Sputtering, E-beam evaporation, PECVD, and annealing workflows

• Process integration for packaging and device fabrication

• Film and surface characterization using: Ellipsometry, AFM, SEM

• Preferred Background

• Hands-on cleanroom fabrication experience

• Strong understanding of nanofabrication chemistry and process interactions

• Experience in UC Berkeley nanofabrication facilities or Stanford University cleanrooms is a major plus

• PhD preferred (MS/BS with strong experience also considered)

• Prior experience in fiber optics or photonics is a plus
