About the role
Job Title Senior MR Systems Architect Job Description 1 . PURPOSE This role is positioned as a system-level integrator and architect, responsible for ensuring end-to-end coherence, scalability, and performance of complex MRI platforms. The role bridges deep MRI domain expertise with system architecture capability, driving modular, reusable, and future-proof system solutions, aligned with MR reference architectures, while contributing to regulatory strategy and business objectives. This position plays a critical role in shaping the technology direction, platform strategy, and system-level performance of next-generation MRI products.
2 . PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
System Architecture Design & Governance Define and drive system-level architecture, including structure, interfaces, and design rules, ensuring alignment with enterprise and domain architectures and delivering scalable and compliant MRI solutions.
Cross-domain System Integration Drive integration across RF, Gradient, Magnet, control systems, sequence, and reconstruction domains .
Ensure system-level alignment of interfaces, timing, data flow, and performance .
Lead resolution of cross-domain integration challenges .
Technical Decision & Trade-off Management Drive system-level technical decisions and trade-offs across performance, cost, risk, and regulatory constraints to achieve optimal system balance.
System Problem Solving Lead system-level debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution during integration, verification, and validation phases.
Platform & Architecture Evolution Drive modular architecture and platform strategy to support reuse, scalability, and long-term evolution across product generations.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Influenc e Collaborate across R&D, system engineering, and regulatory teams, driving alignment on architecture and system-level decisions.
3 . JOB REQUIREMENTS
The position requires the following personal capabilities and competence for acceptable performance:
Education Master’s or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, preferably with MR background.
Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering or risk management
Strong experience in MRI systems or equivalent complex systems
Experience in system integration across hardware and software domains .
Competency and Skills Technical & Architecture Competency Strong expertise in MR chain (control / RF / Gradient / Magnet) design
Deep understanding of MRI system control logic and signal chain
Ability to define system architecture, interfaces, and integration strategy
Strong capability in architectural trade-offs and decision making
Demonstrated modularization and platform thinking
Ability to abstract system problems into reusable architecture solutions
System Integration & Problem Solving Proven capability in system-level integration
Strong experience in debugging, root cause analysis, and system issue resolution
Experience across integration, verification, and validation phases
Engineering Competencies Architecture documentation and modeling
Application of system engineering methods (FMEA, DfX, DfSS)
Experience with simulation, modeling, and validation tools
Ability to define and maintain architecture artifacts and standards
Behavioral Competencies Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
Ability to drive alignment across teams
Strong analytical and architectural thinking
Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty
Communication, coaching, and negotiation skills
