Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Principal Software Engineer. This role is located on site in El Segundo, CA or San Diego, CA. In this role you will help adapt a suite of mobile control station software applications to a cloud environment, participating in building Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and infrastructure to deploy the solution to an Il-5 cloud environment including containerization, instrumentation, integration, security, and system test. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Dev*Ops, in an Agile software development environment. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12 years of Software Engineering experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 10 years of Software Engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 8 years on Software Engineering experience - Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company. - Experience with infrastructure components (VMs, containers, network, storage, Linux/Windows, and IT security concepts) - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and micro-services - Experience with software-defined networking - Experience with a coding or scripting language - Experience with a Cloud platform - Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Atlassian suite: Jira, Confluence) - Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills Preferred Qualifications: - An active Secret or higher clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) - Certified (associate level or above) in a cloud platform or - Azure Platform (>= Azure Administrator Associate) - AWS Platform (>= Solutions Architect Associate) - Completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering - CompTIA Security+ certification - CompTIA Cloud+ certification - Experience with administering cloud-based networking (ACL, Security Groups, WAF) - Demonstrated experience in cloud adoption, environment prototyping, and data migration - Knowledge of account management solutions (RBAC, AWS IAM, Azure AD) - Expertise leveraging git for code management (ArgoCD, Flux, Gitlab) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Experience leading teams of technical individuals #blue Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
