We are seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to support a research area associated with our key lab environment within the Research & Advanced Design organization. The position is located onsite in Melbourne, FL. Accomplish You will be working on 5G/NextG communications, machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and future wireless technologies in support of tactical applications for the warfighter. You will be responsible for but not limited to: Integrating, deploying, and enhancing 5G systems based on the O-RAN standard. Designing and deploying microservices architectures on Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software Working with various team members to integrate functionality with other software components. Providing technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with programs objectives. Developing software products from all phases of the software lifecycle. Contributing to the full life cycle of system development in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Meeting milestones and deadlines by providing best in-class solutions. Working closely with the software lead. Succeed The individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented to help us grow our services, become even better at what we do and will possess the following qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Must have Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with 8 years of relevant engineering experience, OR 6 years with Master’s Degree in STEM OR 4 years with a PhD. In-depth working knowledge of the full software development life cycle. In-depth working knowledge with the Agile software development process. In-depth working knowledge and experience with C/C++, Java, or other OOP languages. Experience implementing and developing in containers. Experience developing software in a Linux and Windows environment. Experience with configuration management using industry standard tools and processes. Experience developing software and COTS software integration Experience with virtualization on different platforms Experience working with on-premise, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure Experience developing CONOPS and working with other teams to provide demo infrastructure Experience with demo/experiment integration and execution Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated Secret clearance (Must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with 5G communications protocols and equipment. Experience building, deploying, and maintaining microservices architectures in Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments. Experience with Kubernetes. Experience integrating AI/ML models into microservices architectures. Experience applying commercial products to military applications. Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
