About the role
Site Reliability Engineer – Platform Operations As a Site Reliability Engineer reporting to Sr. Director – Platform Operations, Cap Cloud team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of cloud-based services delivered to Nasdaq's FinTech clients worldwide. You'll thrive in this position if you're solutions-oriented, resilient under pressure, and energized by working across global teams to build and sustain mission-critical systems that keep markets moving. What You Will Do Test, plan, and deploy changes to our existing systems for SRE & operational excellence, as well as implementing new solutions to enhance our customer offerings Handle appropriate incidents (and problems) through to resolution, referring and raising to other resolver groups as required Facilitate planning and execution of disaster recovery tests and other BCP activities Ensure support for a culture of continuous improvement, including identifying areas for potentially improved automation and feeding back to relevant teams Drive the culture of “security first” and continuous improvements Identify, design, and implement technical and process improvements to improve service delivery metrics. Advanced level communication (escalation, collaboration with global team, influence /stakeholder mgmt.) What We Expect 5+ years of experience managing mission-critical, 24x7 operational environments in a cloud-based setting. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code tooling to support reliable and repeatable deployments. Solid experience with cloud technologies, including proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI), as well as expertise in Terraform and Ansible. Experience of Terraform, Bash or Python scripting Solid understanding of Linux systems administration, containerization, and network fundamentals. Solid experience with monitoring tool.eg Datadog or AWS cloud watch or equivalent Knowledgeable in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Knowledge in ITIL , IBM MQ, Patching & Vulnerability Management Strong understanding of Networking- TCP/IP, firewalls, VLAN, VPN Knowledge with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS (nice to have) Excellent communicator with a track record of effective collaboration across distributed, global teams. Good knowledge of AI tools (e.g. copilot, github copilot or equivalent), exposure to LLM, RAG and AI agents’ knowledge (hands on experience is optional but is highly preferrable). What Would Be Helpful AWS and / or Azure /OCI certifications in professional level Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification Linux or Kubernetes certifications Have experience working in Financial institutions Certified in Security management ( eg. AWS certified security professional) This position is based in Sydney, Australia, and offers a hybrid work environment with at least 2 days per week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
