THE Role

As a Model Behavior Architect on the Multilingual team, you will define and measure what effective model behavior looks like across languages. This role exists to ensure our models perform consistently, naturally, and appropriately in every language they support, not just English. You will collaborate with the Science team to set standards for language adherence, naturalness, and cultural alignment. Your work will directly impact how our models serve users globally, ensuring they reflect the cultural context and linguistic nuances of every region.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Interact with models across languages to identify where behavior can be improved.

• Gather feedback from internal and external sources to scope areas for enhancement.

• Define what high-quality, culturally aligned behavior means for each language.

• Design and implement evaluations, data guidelines, and synthetic testing environments for multilingual settings.

• Shape how models reflect the cultural context of the users and regions they serve.

• Address edge cases through rigorous cross-language testing to ensure consistency and reliability.

• Develop robust evaluation pipelines to assess the multilingual capabilities of model candidates.

What We're Looking FOR

• Expertise in building robust evaluation frameworks for AI systems.

• Strong understanding of linguistics, language, and translation, or experience with reasoning and tool use in large language models. Depth in linguistics or multilingual natural language processing is strongly preferred.

• Ability to thrive in dynamic, technically complex environments and deliver innovative solutions.

• Track record of solving open-ended challenges with practical, creative approaches.

• Experience in defining and measuring model behavior across diverse linguistic and cultural contexts.
