About the role
We are looking for a Software Technical Analyst to join the Information Systems team at MBPS, supporting and maintaining critical and non critical applications across GWAM. As part of the L2 Application System Support team, this role works within an Agile, high performing environment delivering application support, deployment, business requirements gathering, and data analysis. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical and customer service skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, curious mindset, with a solid understanding of wealth and asset management systems. You will be responsible for devising and supporting solutions that integrate seamlessly with enterprise application frameworks and conform to Manulife standards, ensuring reliable, scalable, and well aligned business solutions. Position Responsibilities: Adapt to Global Technology / Segment wide organization / Business Unit’s strategy particularly with the support model and goal. Coordinate application releases across all supported platforms and applications, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant deployments. Create, manage, and maintain Change (CHG) tickets for all applications handled by the squad (not limited to AEM Platform), ensuring alignment with change management standards. Schedule and coordinate deployment requests with engineering, QA, infrastructure, and operations teams. Execute deployments during scheduled release windows and provide real time support during release activities. Perform release readiness activities, including execution of IRA tasks and certification of repositories when required. Revise, maintain, and standardize Standard Change (STD) templates to ensure consistency and audit readiness. Coordinate penetration testing activities, including scheduling, tracking outcomes, and ensuring remediation follow ups. Lead and coordinate Disaster Recovery (DR) testing, including planning, execution support, documentation, and reporting. Perform ad hoc Business Analyst (BA) tasks to support delivery teams, product owners, and stakeholders as needed. Maintain BI dashboards and Jira reporting, including epic status updates, velocity metrics, and burnup charts. Support agile ceremonies by running sprint planning sessions and facilitating backlog grooming/refinement when required (or as a shared responsibility). Help maintain and curate backlogs across all sites by: Validating new defects and requests Applying correct labels, priorities, quarters, and ownership Ensuring backlog hygiene and readiness for planning Maintain, organize, and clean up Confluence documentation, ensuring content accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. Act as a cross functional liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure transparency, traceability, and smooth delivery execution. Continuously identify opportunities to improve release processes, tooling, and documentation standards. Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of working experience in release management, business analysis, or similar role. Solid understanding of the Scrum framework, including its principles, roles, and ceremonies Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging technical teams and business stakeholders. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences Understand business requirements and identify optimal solution options; develop a strong understanding of business needs and support developers in delivering effective solutions. Proven ability to multitask both independently and within a team. Knowledge of financial services, specifically investment management. Awareness of ITIL (incident, problem, change management) practices in aligning IT services with the needs of business. High attention to detail, especially in release coordination, documentation, and reporting. Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments. Client and action oriented, proactive problem‑solver with a continuous improvement mindset. Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Licenses: Not required. Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite) Amenable to work at UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) Amenable to work in any shift schedule assigned (night shift; flexible depending on business need) Preferred Qualifications: Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Hands-on experience executing production deployments Experience facilitating or supporting agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming/refinement, and coordination with cross‑functional teams. Ability to maintain backlog hygiene by validating new work items, ensuring proper labeling, prioritization, ownership, and quarterly alignment. Comfort performing ad hoc Business Analyst (BA) tasks to support delivery and stakeholder needs. Can translate a more complex technical problem into business terms Solution design mindset - Ability to constructively challenge business requirements, technical requirements and any other direction that is received, to ensure we are building the BEST solution Work well independently as well as in a team environment as situation dictates Have strong knowledge and experience with the following tools: JIRA Software Confluence ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM tool) Reporting Tools (JIRA, PowerBI) Knowledge and understanding of the following tools (Nice-to-have): Git-based repositories (GitHub) CI/CD Pipelines JAVA Azure Databricks When you join our team: We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
