About LUO
Luo is one of the fastest-growing FX and cross-border payments companies in Africa. We help African businesses pay their international suppliers faster, more transparently, and more competitively than traditional solutions.
After becoming a leading player in a few markets in record time, we are looking to grow our engineering team and keep building the financial infrastructure for FX and cross-border payments in Africa.
Role Overview
You will join a small team of experienced engineers and contribute to a diverse range of internal tools and customer-facing products. Your solutions will help grow and run a payment infrastructure that processes millions of euros of transactions per day.
This role requires a customer-centric mindset and the ability to communicate clearly with both engineers and non-engineers in order to reach sound technical solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ship products to customers and internal teams (payment operations, treasury management, FX trading, compliance).

Build React web applications.

Design intuitive user interface.

Design and implement APIs in Golang.

Leverage AI-driven development practices.
-
Be in touch with stakeholders, founders and business realities.
What WE ARE Looking FOR

6+ years of experience building web products.
-
Experience building APIs in Golang, Typescript or any other statically typed language.

Experience working in a small, high-paced technical team.

Product builder and customer-centric mindset.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Ability to navigate trade-offs and balance effort vs impact.

SYSTEMS BUILT AT LUO

Payment platform for businesses in Africa.

Internal tools for payment operators, treasury analysts and FX traders.

Use of AI to perform OCR and approve invoices.

KYC onboarding flows.

Anti-Money Laundering and Transaction Monitoring systems.

Core Banking System and Ledger System.

Payout automations with banking partners.
