As a Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics on Treasury's Data & Analytics team, you will turn a broad and complex financial data landscape into insight that shapes how Treasury and Liberty Mutual’s business units make decisions. Operating with general direction, you will take ownership of moderate to high complexity analytical work, bringing both technical depth and business judgment to the problems you tackle. You will be a trusted analytical partner to stakeholders across Treasury's operational teams and a key contributor to our ambition to become a world class organization: one that uses data proactively to drive decisions and intelligent automation to drive efficiency. As a senior member of a small, high-impact team, you will also help raise the bar on quality, documentation, and foundational capabilities that allow the team to scale

Responsibilities

Conducts moderate to high complexity analysis under general direction, supporting Treasury functions and partnering business units across a global, broad, and varied data landscape. Treasury functions include: Accounts Payable, Payment Services: Bank Administration & Employee Reimbursements, Governance: Unclaimed Property & Treasury Tax, Risk Management: Reconciliation & Controls, Cash Management and Solutions & Consulting

Identifies trends and issues following pre-defined business processes.

Provides technical and analytical assessments of issues facing the business and presents findings clearly to key stakeholders, including operational teams and leadership

Queries data to conduct ad hoc analyses of metrics across premium collection, disbursement, commission, refund, and operational data sources.

Analyzes results to quantify performance, evaluate current versus future-state initiatives, and support data-driven business cases

Builds, maintains, and enhances predictive models, analytical tools, and dashboards, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and ongoing usability

Contributes to a culture of quality by participating in peer review of analytical work and helping establish and follow sound analytical standards.

Develops and maintains reference documentation for data sources, models, dashboards, and processes to strengthen the team's foundational capabilities and continuity of support.

Supports Treasury's adoption of AI and intelligent automation, applying new tools and techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Partners with Global Finance Technology and other stakeholders to understand data sources, inform data needs, and improve access to reliable data.

Serves as point person for moderate to high complexity projects, and as a team member on broader initiatives where they may lead their own work stream.

Actively shares job knowledge with less experienced analysts and may mentor a new hire, depending on experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 3 years, typically 4 or more years of experience, or equivalent, is required.

  • Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field are preferred fields of study.

  • Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and techniques.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.), PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (SAS, Emblem).

  • Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills. Solid understanding of business to improve business outcomes.

  • Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with, or strong interest in, applying AI/GenAI tools and intelligent automation to analytical work.

  • Proficiency with Python, SQL, PowerBI and Snowflake
