The Opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in delivering high-quality software solutions by leading and supporting testing activities throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will drive the development and continuous improvement of testing methodologies, processes, tools, and documentation, while planning, designing, executing, and validating software and system tests. Working closely with stakeholders and project teams, you will monitor and communicate test progress, manage defects through to resolution, and ensure strong traceability between requirements, testing activities, and delivered outcomes. You will also identify and escalate risks and issues where required, collaborating with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams to ensure successful project delivery and maintain the highest standards of quality. This is an expression of interest for permanent full-time opportunities in Canberra and Brisbane. The successful candidate must hold an NV1 clearance or higher. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain software testing methodologies, processes, tools, and documentation across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Plan, design, execute, and validate software and system test activities, including test cases, test plans, readiness reviews, and test reporting. Monitor and communicate test progress, results, risks, and issues to key stakeholders. Perform defect analysis, tracking, reporting, and resolution support in collaboration with project teams. Support requirements management and ensure traceability between requirements, testing, and delivered outcomes. Escalate software, hardware, resource, or project issues as required. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. As the ideal candidate you will bring: Proven experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test reports across the software development lifecycle. Strong hands-on software testing experience, including system integration, regression, verification, and performance testing. Solid understanding of software development, QA methodologies, and test environment management. Experience preparing test data and working with databases to support testing activities. Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve defects while ensuring traceability to requirements. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience collaborating across development, engineering, and testing teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and problem prevention. Desirable experience in Agile environments, automated testing tools, Defence ICT systems, and industry standards such as ISTQB, DO-178C, or MIL-STD-498.
