About the role
Product Manager – Fluid Control Products (APAC) Location: Shanghai Reporting Line: Sr. Product Manager, Field Device, APAC Portfolio Scope: BAS & Controls Position Description This role is responsible for driving the development and growth of fluid control in field device products, with a strategic focus on high-growth verticals such as data centers. The position focuses on expanding the product portfolio, addressing product gaps, and enabling effective go-to-market strategies in close collaboration with sales teams. As a regional product expert for emerging markets, the role works closely with sales and global product management teams to support OEM customization, product certification, and technical enablement. Own end-to-end product lifecycle management Identify growth opportunities and close portfolio gaps through new product initiatives Drive go-to-market strategies and successful product launches across APAC Essential Job Function Product Strategy & Portfolio Management Define and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and lifecycle plans Identify portfolio gaps and drive new product development (NPI) initiatives Develop business cases for new or enhanced products Support pricing strategy and contribute to margin optimization and profitability improvement Market & Customer Insights Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer requirements Assess APAC market size and growth opportunities Gather insights from end-users, distributors, and OEMs Commercial Execution & Go-to-Market Develop and support go-to-market strategies with clear execution plans Lead product launches in close collaboration with sales teams Provide product marketing support, training, and product positioning Act as senior interface with key customers Product Financial & Business Delivery Define market share, pricing, and margin targets of product lines Drive customer profitability analysis to support commercial decisions Align manufacturing and supply chain requirements, including forecasting and inventory planning Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams Support localization and regional product development Align with global counterparts across NAM and Europe Drive cross-functional alignment Industry Engagement Represent company in industry forums and events Deliver presentations at industry events and reviews Monitor competition and develop response strategies Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering Preferred majors: HVAC, Industrial Automation Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Experience 10+ years of experience in product management and product application, including hands-on experience in application support Proven track record in product marketing, pricing, application engineering, and business development Experience with HVAC or Industrial field controls, valves and actuators is required Core Competencies Strong business acumen and ownership mindset Excellent communication and presentation skills (English & Mandarin) Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix organization Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proven ability to drive growth and cross-functional initiatives Other Requirements Willingness to travel (30–50%) Johnson Controls: Enhancing the Intelligence of Buildings Your buildings have a purpose.
