About the role
Endpoint Agent Lead- Windows, Mac and Linux Description - Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale HP's device analytics and insights platform. This role focuses on collecting, processing, and analyzing telemetry from millions of endpoints across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments while enabling intelligent device insights, diagnostics, and automation. The ideal candidate has deep systems-level expertise, strong cloud engineering experience, and a proven track record building enterprise-grade endpoint software deployed at scale. Responsibilities Design and develop cross-platform endpoint agents for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Build scalable telemetry pipelines for device health, performance, inventory, and diagnostics collection. Develop low-level data collection frameworks interacting with OS internals and native APIs. Investigate and resolve complex binary crashes, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents. Design plugin-based architectures enabling extensible analytics and telemetry capabilities. Build AI-powered automation, AI agents, and MCP tools to improve diagnostics and customer workflows. Collaborate with cloud, security, and data engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Support enterprise deployment strategies using SCCM, Intune, package managers, and installer technologies. Work closely with security and networking teams to ensure compatibility with enterprise proxy infrastructures and authentication mechanisms. Contribute to architecture decisions, technical roadmaps, and engineering best practices. Required Qualifications Systems & Platform Expertise Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux internals. Experience developing system services, daemons, background processes, and endpoint agents. Knowledge of device lifecycle, domain joining, device identity, and enterprise endpoint management. Experience troubleshooting OS-level issues, native code crashes, memory leaks, and performance problems. Enterprise Networking Hands-on experience with: Enterprise proxy infrastructures Kerberos-authenticated proxies NTLM authentication TLS/SSL communication Network diagnostics and troubleshooting Cloud & Distributed Systems Strong AWS experience, including: AWS IoT AWS Kinesis AWS CloudFront Event-driven architectures Large-scale telemetry ingestion pipelines Endpoint Management & Deployment SCCM deployments Microsoft Intune Installer technologies (MSI, PKG, RPM, DEB, etc.) Enterprise software rollout and update strategies Software Engineering Proficiency in one or more of: C++ C# Python Go Rust Experience designing plugin frameworks and extensible architectures. Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills. AI & Automation Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows. Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools and integrations. Exposure to LLM-powered automation and diagnostics systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience with observability and telemetry platforms. Knowledge of endpoint security and compliance frameworks. Experience handling data collection from millions of devices. Prior work in device analytics, endpoint management, or enterprise SaaS platforms. Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives. Experience & Education 8+ years of software engineering experience. 5+ years building enterprise endpoint or systems software. Demonstrated ownership of large-scale production systems.
