About the role
Android Security Expert Description - Role: Android Security Specialist with deep expertise in platform security, application hardening, and AOSP customization. Experienced in securing Android frameworks, system services, and native layers with strong knowledge of SELinux policies, Secure Boot & Image signing, Binder IPC security and Android 16 platform changes. Involves working closely with platform engineers, OEM partners, and security teams to design, implement, validate and maintain robust Android security controls across system and application layers. Passionate about building resilient mobile ecosystems and preventing exploitation at both app and OS levels. Core Competency Android Platform Security (AOSP) Strong experience in AOSP internals Application Security Architecture SELinux Policy Development & Debugging Secure Boot & Verified Boot Certificate Pinning/Provisioning on Android devices Android Keystore & Hardware-backed security Binder IPC Security & Permission Enforcement Static & Dynamic Security Testing Secure OTA Updates Android Framework Customization Strong Working experience on Arm TrustZone & TEE Android build system
Knowledge & Skills Agile Methodology Application Programming Interface (API) C++ (Programming Language) Computer Science Debugging Full Stack Development Java (Programming Language) Linux Software Development Software Engineering Strong debugging skills at system and native levels Ability to analyze low-level crashes and security logs Proactive security mindset Strong documentation and communication skills Experience working in cross-functional teams
Education & Experience Recommended • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. • Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in systems engineering, computer programming language, or a related field.
Impact & Scope • Impacts function and leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.
Complexity • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
