About the role
Android Graphics Expert Description - Overview: Seeking an experienced Android Graphics Expert to design, develop, and optimize high-performance graphics and rendering pipelines on Android devices. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in OpenGL ES, Vulkan, GPU optimization, and Android’s graphics stack, with strong system-level debugging skills. This role involves working closely with platform engineers, performance teams, and hardware vendors to deliver smooth, high-FPS, low-latency rendering experiences across devices. Key Responsibilities - Graphics Development Design and implement real-time rendering pipelines on Android Develop 2D/3D rendering systems using OpenGL ES / Vulkan Implement shader programs (GLSL/SPIR-V) Optimize graphics performance (FPS, memory, power) Platform & System Integration Work with Android graphics stack: - SurfaceFlinger - HWComposer - Skia - RenderThread Debug rendering issues across device variants Handle frame drops, jank, ANR caused by graphics bottlenecks - Performance Optimization Profile GPU and CPU usage Use tools like: - Android GPU Inspector - Perfetto - Systrace - RenderDoc Optimize: - Texture handling - Memory bandwidth - Overdraw - Frame timing Low-Level Debugging Debug driver-level and HAL issues (if required) Work with device vendors (Qualcomm, MediaTek, etc.) Understand AOSP graphics pipeline and buffer managemen Testing & Stability Validate rendering across multiple Android versions Handle device compatibility challenges Ensure smooth behavior across refresh rates (60Hz / 90Hz / 120Hz Job - Software Schedule - Full time Shift - No shift premium (India) Travel - Relocation - Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) - HP, Inc. provides equal employment opportunity to all employees and prospective employees, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation, age, disability, or status as a protected veteran, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic predisposition or carrier status, uniformed service status, political affiliation or any other characteristic protected by applicable national, federal, state, and local law(s).
