Sustaining Engineering Hardware Engineer
Role: Level 2 Hardware Engineer
Location: Lugoj Romania
Reports to: R&D Manager, Sustaining Engineering
Honeywell Building Automation (BA) FIRE group is in the process of reimagining the next generation FIRE Panel & peripherals requiring creative Hardware engineers with strong domain and application knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Main responsibility for this position is to develop & maintain all the hardware required for fire detection systems comprised of control panels, loop cards and field devices (transponder) requiring expertise in various technologies like Micro controllers; supply rails, low level communications, sensing and protocols.
Specific Tasks Include
- Understand existing product design and implementation.
- Develop hardware design for panels, loop cards, etc with adherence to cybersecurity
- Effort estimation and planning, technically manage external consultants and suppliers
- Maintain know how on applicable FIRE standards
- Interact with manufacturing and product stake holders.
- Generate innovative ideas with our designs and solutions
- Investigate complex customer issues.
- A contributing member of the global Sustaining Engineering team.
- Working collaboratively with local and global cross-functional product development teams.
- Mentor junior team members in best practice.
Must Have
- Bachelor or Master degree in engineering with specialization in hardware design.
- 3+ years of Hardware design
- Good communication and teamworking skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Ability to travel worldwide ca. 10%
