Field Service Engineer - DCS systems m/f/d

Job Description
Position is to support Systems Migrations, Upgrades, Software and Hardware troubleshooting/maintenance for Honeywell DCS systems. He shall be able to perform maintenance and configuration tasks required for DCS, SCADA. PLC. ESD and Safety Systems, including related IT technologies (Cisco Networking Systems, Virtual Systems, Active Directory (AD)), activities include installing control system’s software patches, Anti-virus and MS updates. Continuously improve knowledge of Honeywell’s HPS systems hardware and software platforms. Interface with clients, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams to align automation and maintenance strategies.
Responsibilities
- Field service & support: Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize Honeywell DCS systems (e.g., Experion PKS), SCADA, PLC, and SIS/ESD platforms in live production environments.
- Preventive & corrective maintenance: Execute routine health checks, backups, firmware/patch management, and incident resolution (remote/on‑site).
- Upgrades & migrations: Support system expansions, software upgrades, controller migrations, and site cutovers—including testing and rollback planning.
- Configuration & commissioning: Implement control strategies, graphics/HMI, alarm management, historian/data collection, and basic integration with field devices and networks.
- Cybersecurity hygiene: Apply security baselines, hardening, patching windows, access management, backup/restore procedures, and documentation aligned to OT standards.
- Documentation & compliance: Maintain service records, test plans, MOCs, and ensure adherence to site safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Customer engagement: Provide clear communication, training, and post‑service reports. Escalate issues appropriately and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Lead complex projects: Architect and deliver brownfield/greenfield DCS projects, multi‑system integrations, and lifecycle modernization programs.
- SIS/ESD leadership: Guide safety lifecycle work (e.g., IEC 61511 practices), FAT/SAT, proof testing planning, cause & effect verification, and shutdown logic reviews.
- Advanced troubleshooting: Resolve systemic issues involving networks, controllers, failover, performance bottlenecks, and intermittent faults under time pressure.
- Design & consulting: Produce functional specs, control narratives, alarm rationalization, cybersecurity assessments, and migration roadmaps.
- Mentoring & governance: Coach junior engineers, review deliverables, define best practices, and ensure project risk management and compliance.
Qualifications

Experience in industrial automation, with proven delivery on Honeywell DCS (e.g., Experion PKS, C300, ACE nodes) and adjacent SCADA/PLC platforms.

Solid experience with SIS/ESD systems (e.g., Honeywell Safety Manager or equivalent), cause & effect matrices, proof testing, and safety lifecycle practices (IEC 61511).

Proficiency in control strategy implementation, HMI design, alarm management, and historian/data integration.

Strong competence in OT networking & cybersecurity (segmentation, patching, backups, hardening, AV/whitelisting, access control).

Project leadership experience: scoping, scheduling, risk management, stakeholder communication, mentoring.

Monthly gross salary from 2200 EUR . Final salary offer will depend on your experience and qualifications. Incentives and benefits will be part of the offer.
