As a QA Engineer, you will join a product team developing advanced energy applications, including algorithms that determine the state of electrical power networks. You will work closely with software developers, scientists from Hitachi Energy Research, and Product Management to deliver smarter, greener, and more reliable energy solutions. How you'll make an impact Plan and execute comprehensive testing strategies based on business requirements and solution designs. Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases covering functional and non-functional requirements. Be part of a development team delivering customer-ready solutions. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to improve release quality. Work with physical laboratory equipment to validate real-life scenarios. Manage test execution and reporting using Zephyr Scale and Azure DevOps. Collaborate with developers to identify, investigate, and resolve software issues. Collaborate across teams to continuously improve QA processes and product reliability. Actively participate in Agile development processes and promote software testing best practices. Develop domain knowledge in Power Systems to support the full product lifecycle and continuous improvement. Mentor team members and advocate for quality assurance principles across the organization. Your background Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance. Proven experience in test automation using Python. Willingness to develop expertise in Power Systems; prior knowledge or experience in this area is a strong advantage. Knowledge of communication protocols such as OPC, IEC 60870-5-104, MODBUS, and IEEE C37.118 is a strong advantage. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage. Familiarity with BDD testing approaches, including Gherkin notation, is a plus. ISTQB certification is a plus. Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and testing tools. Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and version control systems such as Git. Experience with performance, security, or compliance testing is an advantage.
