Job Description: Location Candidates must reside near a major U.S. airport on either coast to support customer travel. Overview HPE Networking will unleash the power of the combined HPE Aruba Networking and Juniper Networking solutions, delivering a comprehensive portfolio designed to serve a wide range of customer segments. The Sr. Presales Systems Engineer plays a critical role in driving the success of HPE Networking by enabling the sale and support of advanced networking and security solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with customer engagement to translate business needs into differentiated technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead pre-sales technical engagements, including solution design, architecture, and positioning of networking and security solutions Partner closely with sales teams, customers, and ecosystem partners to align technical strategies with business outcomes Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements to validate solutions Develop and respond to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, building compelling and competitive proposals Build and maintain strong relationships with customer technical stakeholders and decision-makers Provide enablement, training, and technical guidance to partners and customer engineering teams Stay current on industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to effectively position solutions Required Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical pre-sales role (Sales Engineer / Systems Engineer) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Juniper & Networking Expertise Strong hands-on experience with Juniper networking solutions across routing, switching, and/or security domains Deep expertise in enterprise networking, including: Routing & switching (IGPs, BGP, Layer 2/3 VPNs) WAN technologies (MPLS, traffic engineering concepts) Data center networking (EVPN/VXLAN, fabric architectures) Network security principles and solutions (NGFW, IPSec, DDoS protection, etc.) Solution Design & Customer Engagement Proven experience designing and consulting on network architectures, including bill of materials and implementation strategies Experience operating and implementing enterprise-scale campus, branch, and/or data center networks Strong customer-facing experience, including technical presentations, whiteboarding, and executive-level engagement Experience supporting pre-sales cycles including solution positioning, proposal development, and competitive differentiation Core Skills Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them in customer environments Demonstrated ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications) Experience with Juniper ecosystem tools such as Paragon, Mist, Apstra (or equivalent platforms) Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience with automation or scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) in network environments Familiarity with DevOps or infrastructure-as-code concepts (YANG, Netconf, etc.) Experience with emerging technologies such as virtualization, containerization, or NFV Industry certifications such as JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent What We Can Offer You: Health & Wellbeing We strive to provide our team members and their loved ones with a comprehensive suite of benefits that supports their physical, financial and emotional wellbeing. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. – United States of America: Annual Salary USD 166,000 - 343,000 in California & New York // 146,000 - 343,000 in Virginia This range reflects the minimum to maximum combined base and target-level sales compensation that would be paid if the hire performs at 100% of their sales plan.
