This is a hybrid role; the selected candidate is expected to work at least 2 days per week from the HPE office in San Jose, CA. Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance features for the HPE EdgeConnect Orchestrator web application supporting SD-WAN deployments. Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for orchestration, monitoring, and network management. Implement and integrate AI-driven workflows (“skills”) that interact with backend systems and data sources. Contribute to Copilot capabilities for use cases such as troubleshooting, documentation assistance, and analytics. Work with data platforms (e.g., analytics databases, telemetry systems) to enable real-time insights. Write and maintain unit, integration, and white-box tests to ensure quality and reliability. Participate in debugging, RCA, and performance optimization across backend and AI workflows Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, product management) in a distributed environment. Contribute to design and architecture decisions with focus on scalability, performance, and security. Required Qualifications This is a hybrid role; the selected candidate is expected to work at least 2 days per week from the HPE office in San Jose, CA. 5+ years of experience in Java and/or Python-based backend software development. 5+ years of experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices-based architectures. 2+ years of hands-on experience building, integrating, or deploying AI/LLM-powered applications, Copilot solutions, or intelligent automation workflows. Experience with prompt engineering, Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration, and LLM evaluation techniques. Strong experience with database design and development using SQL and/or NoSQL technologies. Experience building scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms. Familiarity with modern web technologies including JavaScript, React, and Node.js. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills in large-scale production environments. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred.
