At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.

Your mission

We are looking for a Prototype Workshop Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role that combines mechanical and electrical assembly, prototype fabrication, and workshop development. You will support the build and integration of test rigs, sub-systems, and full-scale prototypes as we develop our electric aircraft. You’ll also play a critical role in setting up and maintaining our prototyping workshop, ensuring it is safe, functional, and efficient.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Prototype Assembly & Fabrication:

• Support the assembly of mechanical and electrical components for prototypes and test rigs.

• Assist with wiring, soldering, crimping, and integration of electrical systems and harnesses.

• Perform basic machining, 3D printing, and fabrication tasks (e.g., cutting, drilling, and fastening).

• Collaborate with engineers to build, test, and iterate on functional prototypes.

Workshop Development & Support:

• Help set up workshop infrastructure, including tools, benches, safety systems, and inventory.

• Maintain an organized and well-equipped workshop environment.

• Manage tool calibration, equipment maintenance, and consumable supplies.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Provide feedback on design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

• Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic systems.

• 3+ years of proven hands-on experience in prototype assembly (mechanical and electrical).

• Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

• Experience in an R&D, aerospace, automotive, or startup environment.

• Experience with CAD tools and/or fabrication techniques (e.g., CNC, welding, additive manufacturing).

• Familiarity with test instrumentation, DAQ systems, or low-voltage electronics.

Base Pay Range:

$30/HR—$45/HR USD
