Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Polygraph within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Role AND Position Objectives

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Systems Integration and Test Engineer for our Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground Entry Point (GEP) program. As an I&T Engineer for our SDA GEP effort, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and integrating critical Satellite Communications Ground Systems sites for our SDA customer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.

Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Satellite Communications, Antenna Systems, Troubleshooting

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Support requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements under supervision of the I&T Lead systems engineer

Plans and executes project tasks for activities described by I&T Lead

Assists in Developing test plans and test procedures to verify system and subsystem requirements

Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

Assists in witnessed test events and assists in developing test reports

Systems Integration

Coordinates with Systems Engineering leadership and I&T Lead to support test plans and procedure development.

Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects

Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills

Regular contact with I&T lead and internal work groups

Works under limited direction

Travel may be required during GEP site integration and test activities

Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle

Assist in development approach to solutions
