Greenplum Systems Admin Candidate Should Have:
- Administrator experience in Greenplum and Postgres databases
- Experience in Unix/Linux, PL/SQL, PL/pgsql, Shell, Perl, Python
- Experience in data warehousing technologies
- Experience with OS fundamentals (Linux, navigation, memory, swap, top, vmstat, iostat, filesystem)
The Senior Systems Engineer designs, documents, implements, monitors, and supports Unix, Linux, and SAN systems, services, and applications to meet the business requirements of the organization.
Essential Functions:
Designs, documents, implements, monitors, and supports Unix, Linux, Sun Solaris, HP/US, Suse and SAN systems, services, and applications
Designs, documents, plans, implements, monitors, and supports enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
Plans, configures, manages, monitors, and supports SAN infrastructure including EMC CX and DMX SAN, IBM DS SAN, and Brocade SAN switches
Plans, configures, manages, monitors, and supports SAN fabric design, zoning, optimization, and fault-tolerance Responds to alerts or emergency issues within 15 minutes during normal business hours and when on-call Reviews new technologies against business requirements to identify opportunities for process, performance, reliability, or data management, storage or backup improvements and to identify opportunities to reduce costs 5+ to 7 years experience
IDEAL CANDIDATE- Greenplum Admin (Ok with PostgreSQL from a Hadoop Environment)
- Sys Admin experience from UNIX/Linux
