As Principal Engineer for Data Services, you will shape the technical strategy for a portfolio of data services, own key architecture decisions, raise engineering standards across teams, and contribute directly to the design and delivery. This role is hands-on and requires a high degree of autonomy and willingness to take ownership. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus Very strong expertise in Java application development, including micro-services, Strong experience with operational databases (e.g. Postgres, Oracle) Experience in operating production applications on cloud and on premise Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming, and design patterns, using Java Some understanding of cloud-based data platforms such as GCP BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks is a plus Experience with development utilizing software development life cycle (SDLC) tools including Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and attention to detail Fluent in English (written and spoken) Nice to have Skill – Knowledge/Experience in React.
