Job Description
We are looking for a talented Product Engineering Specialist to join our team specialising in Engineering in Darlington, United Kingdom.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways
- Act as a central point of coordination across engineering, customer teams, suppliers and manufacturing to ensure alignment and smooth delivery.
- Influence product decisions by gathering input from stakeholders and translating it into clear recommendations.
- Drive progress on projects by applying sound engineering judgement to day-to-day technical decisions.
- Improve product reliability by identifying risks and mitigating potential failure modes early.
- Support design decisions through analysis, simulation and interpretation of technical data.
- Lead smaller projects or take ownership of components or systems with increasing accountability.
- Strengthen engineering processes by applying and improving tools such as problem-solving methods and design reviews.
- Support and guide colleagues by sharing knowledge and contributing to the development of less experienced engineers.
External Qualifications and Competencies
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Experience working on technical products at the component or subsystem level within an engineering environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complexity and analyse data effectively.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to organise work, manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position
Education/Experience:
- Degree in Engineering or a relevant STEM subject.
- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
- Ongoing professional development or working towards a recognised engineering status is advantageous.
- Strong expertise in CAD modeling, mechanical design, and analysis, with the ability to apply standards and best practices.
