Job summary:
Join Caterpillar’s Azure Platform Services team as an IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure (DevOps : Azure) and help build, automate, and support secure, scalable Azure solutions across global environments. In this role, you will work across both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies, partnering with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to modernize cloud platforms and improve reliability. You will contribute to cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, governance, security, and operational excellence for mission-critical systems. Key responsibilities:
Design, build, migrate, deploy, and support Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, databases, application services, serverless services, and integration capabilities.
Engineer and automate cloud deployments using PowerShell, Python, YAML, JSON, Azure CLI, ARM templates, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and GitHub .
Partner with senior architects, engineers, and global teams to implement cloud solutions that meet performance, availability, scalability, and resilience requirements.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Azure platform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident response, and performance tuning in complex enterprise environments.
Apply secure-by-design practices, including identity and access management, role-based access control, managed identities, Key Vault, logging, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and vulnerability remediation.
Contribute to enterprise cloud patterns, reusable templates, governance standards, testing approaches, and operational documentation to improve consistency and usability.
Support onboarding, training, and technical enablement for teams adopting Azure services and DevOps practices.
Participate in off-shift or weekend support as needed for critical production issues and platform continuity.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering.
Pre-advanced English.
5+ years of experience in Azure cloud engineering, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or closely related enterprise technology roles.
Hands-on experience with Azure core services , including: IaaS: Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Storage, Azure Site Recovery
PaaS: App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Event Hub, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB
Strong experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code , including PowerShell, Python, YAML, JSON, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
Experience building or supporting cloud architectures in production enterprise environments .
Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and root cause analysis skills across distributed systems and global network environments.
Ability to work independently on technical delivery, deployment, and operational problem resolution with limited supervision.
Top Candidates Will Also Have: Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-500 , and/or related cloud certifications.
Experience in Azure infrastructure operations , application modernization , or enterprise cloud platform engineering.
Experience with networking, DNS, application services, security controls, distributed systems, databases, and storage in Azure environments.
Experience with SCRUM / Agile delivery models and cross-functional platform teams.
Exposure to security and compliance activities, including infrastructure hardening and remediation of vulnerabilities.
Note: This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week.
