Mechanical Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Spend a summer designing and prototyping real mechanical hardware alongside the founding hardware team.

What you'll do

• Contribute to enclosure, structure, and mechanism design for Blackstar's devices.

• Own a well-scoped project from design through implementation and review.

• Work directly with senior engineers on prototyping, testing, and design for manufacturing.

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

• Proficiency with 3D CAD and a solid grasp of tolerancing and manufacturing basics.

• Available to work full-time and in person in San Francisco for at least 10 weeks.

• Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining, fabrication).

• Personal projects, research, or coursework involving mechanical design.
