As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations-- and you'll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.

Position Overview (E4 Level) This role requires specialized depth and broad expertise in mechanical engineering. The candidate will independently solve complex engineering problems, contribute innovative solutions, and lead projects or functional teams. You will work with minimal supervision, provide technical leadership, and influence product design, development, and process improvements across the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Technical & Engineering Design, develop, and modify complex mechanical components, assemblies, layouts, and specifications Perform advanced engineering analysis (thermal, structural, flow, vibration, etc.) Apply Design for Excellence (DFx), ergonomics, and safety principles Generate product specifications and engineering documentation Develop mechanical tooling, fixturing, and handling systems for assembly/disassembly Problem Solving & Innovation Identify and troubleshoot complex design, process, manufacturing, and field issues with minimal supervision Apply strong analytical reasoning to develop innovative, practical solutions Evaluate multiple engineering options and recommend optimal solutions Project & Technical Leadership Lead and/or execute engineering projects with moderate complexity and risk Manage deliverables across product lifecycle stages (concept → prototyping → production) Support supplier development and drive technical alignment Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical resource Establish engineering and operational standards Collaboration & Communication Interface with internal teams and external customers on complex technical issues Present engineering solutions and recommendations to leadership Clearly communicate complex concepts and influence cross-functional stakeholders Work effectively in global, cross-functional environments Competencies (E4 Expectations) CAD Design – Extensive Experience Sheet Metal Design, Packaging – Extensive Experience GD&T – Extensive Experience Manufacturing Methods – Extensive Experience Prototyping & Product Development Lifecycle – Extensive Experience Testing & Validation – Extensive Experience Material Selection – Extensive Experience Design for Excellence (DFx), Ergonomics & Safety – Extensive Experience Technical Documentation – Extensive Experience Project Management – Extensive Experience Problem Solving – Subject Matter Expertise Accuracy & Attention to Detail – Extensive Experience Minimum Qualifications Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred) 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design and development Strong expertise in: CAD tools (Creo / NX / SolidWorks) GD&T and mechanical design principles Manufacturing processes and material selection

Preferred Qualifications
