We are seeking research scientists and engineers with strong backgrounds across mechatronics, controls, haptics, robotics, simulation, and machine learning to drive breakthrough innovations in intelligent robotic systems. This position requires a hands-on approach, integrating software and hardware solutions to push the boundaries of perception, control, and intelligence. You will work alongside world-class researchers and engineers, contributing to technologies that power the Apple ecosystem.

  • Lead the exploration of novel sensing and actuation technologies.

  • Define and evaluate robotic system architectures spanning, sensing, actuation, and controls.

  • Guide multidisciplinary teams through prototyping, validation, and deployment.

  • Collaborate with partners and researchers on novel technology applications.

  • Support technical planning and development and drive strategy for next-generation robotic platforms.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience developing complex mechatronic or robotic systems.

  • Experience with sensing, actuation, controls, and system integration.

  • Experience with a wide range of mechatronics prototyping tools and technologies.

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical projects and teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex systems.

  • Experience developing products and technologies from concept through production.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related field.

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

  • Experience with a range of tactile sensing, haptics, and actuation technologies in robotic systems.

  • Experience bringing complex hardware-software systems from prototype to production.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
