Machine Learning Manager, Siri Speech

As part of the Siri organization, you will help shape one of the world's most widely used AI assistants, powered by our next-generation of Apple Intelligence, with capabilities like personal context understanding and on-screen awareness, built with privacy from the ground up. Your work will have direct, meaningful impact for users across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS.

The ideal candidate will combine an intuitive understanding of cutting-edge machine learning capabilities with an eye for when a human touch is required to create something truly exceptional. Delivering products that adhere to responsible AI and safety standards is a key part of the team’s mission and you’ll help to drive and champion this critical work with cross-functional partners.

You'll guide technical decisions while empowering your team to take ownership, and you'll be the bridge between your team's groundbreaking work and broader organizational goals.

2+ years experience leading a software or machine-learning team in the speech technology space

7+ years in a hands-on machine learning role with demonstrable product impact

Experience taking responsibility and ownership of features and the product roadmap

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds (engineers, designers, researchers, etc.)

Committed to encouraging an open and inclusive work environment

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, and build long-term relationships across the organization

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Software Engineering or equivalent

Experience working with voice talent recordings and/or other types of speech data

Experience building text-to-speech models

Fluent in another language or dialect
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $206,200 and $310,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
