If you have ever wanted to build the future in mobile communication, then this is your opportunity. You will play a key role in our multi-site SoC Engineering Team (Munich/Linz), defining the SoC architecture used in RF transceivers for our next-generation 6G cellular chipsets.

In your role as an RF SoC Architect, you will be part of a best-in-class RF Cellular Team and define and develop RF Transceiver SoCs for 6G Cellular products. You will work closely with other Cellular Modem and RF system engineering as well as Hardware and Firmware design teams. Your challenge and primary responsibility will be to define key aspects of the real-time control architecture of our future RF transceiver roadmap.

- You will model and analyse system use cases, states, and sequence charts, and create a matching SoC architecture

- You are breaking down system requirements into a balanced hardware and software partitioning

- The SoC architectures you are going to define will scale over various product variants and versions

- Together with other teams, you will be responsible for co-defining the functional split between cellular baseband, RF transceiver, and RF frontend down to the antenna to achieve best-in-class modem important metrics.

  • Several years of expertise in SoC architecture for embedded systems, in particular including CPU, memory, bus fabric, and peripherals architectures - expertise in RISC-V SoCs is appreciated

  • Proficient knowledge in digital communications - preferably in cellular/5G or any other wireless technology

  • Strong understanding of real-time system design, parallel computing, as well as the PPA trade-offs of digital circuits

  • You like to work x-functionally with colleagues in multiple sites and time zones, including regular international travel

  • Bachelor's or Master's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering/Communication Engineering or similar with extensive years of working experience, or a PhD in a relevant field with several years of working experience.

  • Experience in SoC modelling (e.g., SystemC), HW description (e.g., VHDL, Verilog), and embedded SW design is a big advantage

  • Basic knowledge of standards used in communications technology, like 3GPP, ITU, MIPI, and IEEE, is a plus

  • Strong interests in problem-solving and a demeanor to convince people of their ideas, as well as a willingness to explore novel technical directions, are advantages.

  • Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity. We also take affirmative action to offer employment and advancement opportunities to all applicants, including minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
