The Developer Experience team provide the tools to develop software for all of Apple's innovative platforms, namely Xcode and the surrounding ecosystem of tools and frameworks.
Intelligence is changing the way we build software: from the smallest project to the biggest product. Apple creates tools infused with intelligence to empower developers to be creative and to build apps that reach the widest audiences. This team is responsible for understanding advances in agentic coding & the underlying models, and how to bring the best of those models to our tools while also bringing the best of Apple’s platforms to those models. The team is the interface between partners teams within and outside of Apple, and the rest of the Developer Intelligence components.
We’re looking for an engineer who loves to sit at the cross section of agentic coding, internal & external relationships, and Apple’s platforms. Working on this team covers everything from integrating new models, building relationships with teams, evaluating new techniques to get the most out of each prompt, to researching and implementing and augmenting new protocols and standards.
This position requires a creative, curious, and self-motivated individual. You should love to learn, love to work with a variety of teams and disciplines to bring the best experience for our developers, and enjoy ambiguous problems to explore new paths, respond quickly to partners, and work with a team of engineers delivering key frameworks for Developer Intelligence.
-
Constant curiosity to learn new technologies and discover new techniques
-
Clear, open, and collaborative communication skills; capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team and with relationships within Apple and with external partners
-
Familiarity with building LLM backed features, including but not limited to prompting, tool use, streaming, evaluation, and the practical limits of current models
-
Strong software engineering fundamentals: can demonstrate and articulate how to write clean, maintainable code
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field
-
Familiarity with agentic coding protocols and standards (e.g., MCP, ACP) or related agent/tool frameworks
-
Familiarity with Swift & Apple’s developer ecosystem
